Suzanne and Tony, who organised the Vintage Rally that took place on the 26th July, wanted to say a few words to all those who came down and helped support the Salisbury Hospice and CLIC Sargent charities.

‘With wonderful weather, great stalls, fantastic competitions, and of course not forgetting the military vehicles, vintage tractors and classic cars, the atmosphere at the rally was fantastic. With the addition of a trailer ride this year on the tractor run, not even the ride through the ford at Purns Mill could dampen spirits!

Followed by a BBQ and live bands, the evening continued to be a huge success, and the road run, a sponsored event, raised a massive total of £1282. The shield was won once again by Mike Hansford, congratulations to Mike.

We would like to thank all our sponsors: The Udder Farm Shop, Sydenhams & Sydenhams Hire Centre, A.S.Gould Contractors, W.S.Scrap Metals,The Barber Shop, C.J.Cox Ltd and Riverside Garage, not forgetting a big thank you to all our friends, families, Just Georges Carnival Club and all the staff at The Udder Farm Shop for all their hard work on the day.

After a struggle with sponsorship and prizes this year we are pleased to announce the total amount raised is £3676.91 – our best year ever, and this will be split between Salisbury Hospice & CLIC Sargent.

Many thanks to all who came and supported the event – we really appreciate your support for two charities that are so close to our hearts.’
